They are endlessly developing by one heavy and psychedelic riff like loosing our mind. It is as if Sleep's "Jerusalem" meets Japanese psychedelic rock. Mike vest is an incredible guy because he has been successively making such amazing tunes.

Sugar - Copper Blue

In the golden age of grunge when dark songs were valued, this album developed light and flesh guitar rock to the contrary. Melody sense like magic by Bob mould is full of all parts, and that makes this work extraordinary. The masterpiece sounds real rather than "Nevermind" which was most popular in that age.

Catherine Christer Hennix - Chora(s)san Time-Court Mirage

Drone by a female composer from Sweden who also had a relationship with La Monte Young. Body and mind are being wrapped by the soft sound utilized female vocal. I recommend people who like around Eliane Radigue.

Ketev - Golgotha

The track by a composer in Berlin who is influenced from Giacinto Scelsi to The Doors is dark industial/onkyo as if he draw the dark side of the human mind. I'm dragged into the texture elaborated into details.

John Cale - Stainless Steel Gamelan

From the experimental album recorded before Velvet's. This music piece by the duo with Sterling Morrison is the minimal track which is sounding like metal percussions in the mood of disquiet.

Blind Idiot God - S/T

In 1980's, Bad Brains made a crossover sound they combined punk with reggae. This band succeeded in making a crossover they combined thrash metal with psychedelic rock or dub. I recommend to around Deafheaven fans.

Steve Vai- Flex-Able

Because he may be recognized as the guitarist of hard rock, this weird album of avant-garde has been ignored by avant-garde listener. From the beginning of album "Little green man"  which is hard rock full of acid taste to the last "Chronic Insomnia" which is colored by dissonance, the brilliance of Vai is brimful.

AyGeeTee - 65 76 FYI feedeearsmindouturlff 93 aygeetee mixamo

Mixtape by a beatmaker in London which is made of sound sources by himself. Although he is developing experimental beats including industrial/noise, I'm surprised three-dimensional sound which give me feeling of being at the place. I also recommend Boredoms fans.

Fushitsusha - 1991.9.26

The gig in 1991 at Shibuya Lamama. The camera has been capturing Keiji Haino who showers unbelievable loud sound, shaking his hair loose. I' d like to recommend people who come to be interested not only in Fushitusuha, but also Japanese psychedelic rock.

Peder Mannerfelt - Lines Describing A Circle

Although this is techno including the elements of industiral/onkyo, I feel the track decent. It may be due to mastering by Stefan Betke a.k.a. Pole. I recommend Mika Vainio fans.

Angus MacLise - Tunnel Music, Pt. 2

The sound source in 1965 by the legendary percussionist who had been the first Velvet's drummer was dug. Besides, the content is abstract and percussive electronic music which Low Jack are likely to use. It's the thing enthusiasts may fall unconscious.

Heavier and more evil... Electric Wizard reaches a new dimension

The song “I am nothing” recorded in the new album of Electric Wizard “Time to die” which would be released in September was uploaded the other day. Unearthly heavy, distorted and purgatory guitar covers the whole sound, and Jus sings like murmuring “I am nothing” behind that guitar. It has been 10 years since a female guitarist Liz joined the group, and they broke down with Rise Above which was the old label they were in since the first album, then they established their own label Witchfinder Records. In such milestone year, they seem to enter a new dimension. The frontman, Jus Oborn talked in one interview that the new album would be heavier and more evil than “Dopethrone". As long as I listen to this "I am nothing", and the sound has been completely finished as he said.

Chealsea ‐ Uchyu Yarou

They were the garage band in Kyoto whose violent gig made their name throughout the scene. I'd like to noise fans around Masonna go through their excitement as if they destroy everything possible.

Tru West - Love Trigger

Hiphop just like 2010's which is descendent from Chopped&Screwed, adds the elements of industrial/noise, and the vocal is like death voice. I recommend this to Lil Ugly Mane fans.

Astrobrite - All the stars will fall

The album as if My bloody valentine uses the methodology of drone/ambient. I can't stop to keep listening to the soundscape made by the flowing guitar and transparent female vocal together.

Guardian Alien ‐ at Dunajam 2014

The gig of Guardian Alien who is decided to come to Japan in September at Dunajam 2014. With see in the background, a super drummer Greg fox keeps drumming and strong and beautiful voice of Alex Drewchin echoes.

Electric Wizard ‐ I am nothing

Brand new cut from the hoped for new album "Time to die". I'm beaten completely by wicked doom metal with the distorted guitar which reminds us "Dopethrone" era. I think they alone can play such heavy riffs on the earth.

Augustus Pablo ‎-- Dub, Reggae & Roots From The Melodica King

The compilation of the label, Rockers established by the guy who introduced the melodica recognized as children's instruments into dub/reggae. I end up chilling out by the melancholic melody and the soft analog  sound.

Dälek - Untitled

The session comprised one song for 43 minutes in 2005. We can listen to the different side of usual Dälek. The sound like dark ambient including the elements of Indian music or drone is what I'd like to Bong fans listen to.

Mike Vest (Bong, 11 paranoias, Haikai no ku and more) interview

  Although some artists are highly valued in Europe, they’re not reported in Japan. Mike Vest who I interview this time is one of them. He is vigorously playing in a number of projects, including psychedelic drone group Bong, 11 paranoias, Haikai no ku, Basillica, Blown Out, Nun, etc., but how many Japanese know his activity? Mike broke off his busy schedule to respond to my interview through Facebook. I’m proud to promptly interview him and report his activity in Japan.

―Your current projects I know are Bong, Haika no ku, Blown out, Nun, 11 Paranoias, Lobster Priest, Basillica. Actually, how many projects you take part in now? If you've worked other than the above projects, could you tell me the project name and the concept?

The track by a cutting-edge producer duo in Danish dub scene. The orthodox minimal dub which is decent from Basic Channel. Echochord fans naturally should listen to this.

Onna - Cortigiana Dal Velo

The psychedelic group by Keizou Miyanishi who are also popular as a painter/cartoonist in the underground scene. The guitar in the minor key and a mellow voice of Miyanishi are flirting with on the slow beat which you can feel modern.

Salem「Bow Down」

Mixtape by witch house trio I also introduced last month. Slow and gloomy sound influenced by Chopped&Screwed is really typical of two thousand ten. I recommend Spaceghostpurrp fans.

Drvg Cvltre - Never Stray From The Path

From 10" by a DJ/Producer in Holland who professes Doomdisco. Intense heavy acid electro which likely appeals to Gorge or Industrial fans.

Lord Echo - Bohemian Idol feat. Toby Laing

The track by a multiplayer in New Zealand is the best Balearic/Downtempo which includes elements of funk or reggae features the sweet vocal with rapture. Nightmare on wax fans should listen to this.

Sepultura - Roots

The masterpiece released by Sepultura in 1996. The sound which combined doom metal with Brazilian tribal music is worth listening to even now. I recommend person who likes Jambinai in South Korea.

Alis - Apache (Ital Remix)

From the ep by a brooklyn label. Psychedelic techno including noise you must lose consciousness is an aggressive killer track which has also the texture of heavy metal. I recommend listeners who like Person of interest which I introduced some days ago.

Vinyl Experience (11) Disappearing record shops and Shibuya

Until now, I’ve pursued the phenomenon of vinyl revival in the foreign countries, especially in the US and the UK. I had a plan to deal with Japan after I report the situation of the world little more. But, as I reported on the column the other day, the big news which HMV record shop shibuya will open come in. So changing the plan in a hurry, I will write about the circumstance of vinyl and record shop in Japan.

Mohammad - Samarina

Dark chamber doom by a Greek trio who also has released from PAN. They produce low drone like sounding from a deep stratum, convoluting cello, contrabass and oscillator. I'd like to Haxan Cloak fans experience them.

Willis Earl Beal - Take Me Away

Heavy Blues by a singer song writer from Chicago. Beats like a rumbling of the earth and an intimidating guttural vocal diffuse a genuine atmosphere.
