The review of the event organized at <Proto Theater> ( in Shinjuku district Takadanobaba ) 
 

 “不図”  is a word we read “Futo”. It means “unintended”. This strange name project was planned to mourn for the person called Mr. Hirohito Koyama. I guess most people can’t remind soon when they hear his name.

He died at 58 years old. He died lonely before 60, we regard it as the cycle completed in one’s life, at his home in Hachiouji. The cause of death was brain infarction, not the first time. Although he wasn’t known well, but known to people who have involved in a part of avant-garde/experimental art activities centered upon Tokyo. He wasn’t a professional artist, and also didn’t make money to live as a critic. However, he had an enough critical eye, which make us to think “It may be really great”, if he appreciated it.

Xeerox - Recuerdo Espectral de un Viejo Decorado Electrico

Cult Spanish junk/industrial released from the label in Barcelona, Anòmia. Although the musicality with a focus on the edgy and noisy guitar, also minimal and hard beats which remind us Glen Blanca appear has a same vector as "No New York" released in the same age, It's more surreal.

Eric Copeland - Logo My Ego

12" by a musician who is a member of Black Dice released from L.I.E.S.. Experimental beat music colored by psychedelia is developing. I'm admired by his will to create music which he breaks the barrier of genre and it is full of originality he only can do.

La Morte Young - Untitled

A French group whose name is like a parody of La Monte Young. The performance isn't drone, but noisy improvisation which seem to be influenced from Fushitsusha or Swans. Also Cyril M., I'm interested in the current improvisation in France.

Ak'chamel, The Giver of Illness - Rebirth

The track by the group from Texas who wear somehow eccentric clothes. Strange ritual music which they continue the primitive and magical performance by a gloomy voice like agony and a really simple stringed instrument. The group I'd like to check them out.

Budamunky - Drop

The ill track which I think the track come to be exciting because he uses funky Sylvia Striplin "You Can't～" in the first, but it keeps the downer mode from beginning to end. I'd like around Wordsound fans listen to.

LL Cool J - Around the Way Girl

One of the representative song of LL who also got in the news by blasted hell out of the trespasser. The way he sampled the chorus of Mary Jane Girls "All Night Long" and span rapidly is like an origin of Kanye West "Through the wire".

From the 100 copies ltd. tape by a Peruvian group. I'd like around Guardian Aliens fans to listen to this musicality which has the originality as if they combined 70's heavy psyche with raga and the feeling of drunknness.

The self-made album released in 1974 by a precocious female pianist who debuted as a professional at 15 years old. This song decorated by Joanne's melancholic voice is the great song of the female vocal number ranks with "Sunday Morning" by Velvets.

Momonjah meets Ras Dasher - Mann Got Dubber

From the first album by a dub band in Morioka Mr.Onnyk who is writing "New Nambu" etc. on this blog also joins by playing the sax and the flute. They introduce the real dub which the winding funky bass is also cool.

Anachronistic media, cassettes have been now paid attention to again. It is usual we connect sound sources downloaded on the smartphone to speakers or a headphone as tools for enjoying music. It was music players for MP3 use only before. Those have been integrated in tools called palmtop computers. I think the next one will be a wearable tool, it will be implanted in the body in the future. For example, one manipulates tools with biting the teeth by making the ticking.

Bohren & der club of gore - Piano Nights

The sound "unholy ambient mixture of slow jazz ballads, Black Sabbath doom and down tuned Autopsy sounds" they self described is fulled with the mood and the depth which I should call hard-boiled style music. Although they are inferior to Sunn O))) in terms of the name value, they are the important group as long as them in considering in the current experimental doom/drone scene.
